True that all these other sites have downloads, but aside from bt.etree.org they are all sign-up only, which is both restrictive and intrusive.

Also, one nice thing about gdlive was that it was not a bittorrent site. You didn't have to pounce on a show when it was active - they were all just sitting there. So, no worries about striking while the iron is hot in order to keep up the share ratio.

It takes 30seconds to sign up, its free and spam free. Not too restrictive or intrusive in return for getiing tons of free high quality music whenever you want, in my opinion.

Do any of you know if gdlive is down temporarily or is this going to be the end of free live dead? I hope that it is just down for updating or revamping.
Is this not what the Dead were all about? Has it come to this, the Grateful Dead are angry at their fans for wanting free access to live shows?

Yah, and when it does, I'm going to have alot of spare space on my hard drive ready and waiting! With Rhino entering the picture, I do not trust GDM to allow gdlive to operate much longer, but that is just my opinion.

I was sweating xmas myself - didn't know if gdlive would come back. As for Bobby, are you sure it was the server? It could have been Jerry's toilet!

Bobby is such an acid casualty, he probably thought jerry's toilet WAS the server.
